What Am I Going To Do For 4 Months?

*sobs* My favourite (online) TV show, the wonderful Leverage, has finished it's summer run and won't be back until January 2010. Plus, being the fangirl I am, I know that the final episode of the series is being filmed as I type, way over in sunny Portland.
If you haven't seen it yet, do watch it - I can't recommend it highly enough. It has a great cast (and no, not just the dreamy Christian Kane) and some superb writing. It also has some great guest stars - not only the always-good-value Mark Shephard (Badger from Firefly) but there have been appearances from Peter Reigert (Local Hero) and for Trekkers, Brent Spiner, Wil Wheaton and Jeri Ryan.

I'm going to miss my weekly fix of Nate, Parker, Sophie, Eliot and Hardison, unless Santa brings me a region 1 DVD player and a copy of Season 1.

Moovies

I went to see Broken Embraces with BC yesterday - very good but quite atypical Almodovar I think, in that it focuses more on men. Penelope Cruz was gorgeous as usual and Blanca Portillo is becoming one of my favourite actresses - if only she would smile more! We kept up the Spanish theme by going for tapas and Mojitos at La Tasca afterwards.
In the evening we watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. To be honest, I had avoided this film and only got it from the library as it was £1 to rent. But what a surprise - it's actually a very good film. Cate Blanchett is fantastic and very beautful. I am afraid to say that I am starting to appreciate Brad Pitt as an actor, after having seen this and Burn After Reading. I still don't see how so many women can find him attractive though..
Then I watched Hide this afternoon - only to see my baby Chris Kane. What a wierd film! It reminded me of the episode of Angel where Lindsey is living in the torture dimension. If he hadn't been in it, I don't think I would have stuck with it. A lot of nonsense.

Happy Birthday Babycakes!

I wish I could give you this for your birthday but as I can't, I'll wish you all the best on turning 20. Have a great day sweetie pie XXX

Gratuitous Chris Kane Piccie

I see that Leverage has been given a third season in the US. I still haven't seen the first season, except in clips on YouTube and I have only managed to see the first 5 episodes of Season 2 because they are posted on YouTube but not for ages after they are shown on TV. I can't get the TNT website to work like BBC iPlayer does. I am dying to see episode 6 as Wil Wheaton is in it.
I am going to have to ask Mother Holda for a region-free DVD player for Winter Solstice and get Leverage and Chris's film Hide from Amazon.

Isn't he just gorgeous?

Another Groovy Movie

You so have to see Interstate 60. I watched it at www.indiemoviesonline.com.
It's a great film and I am mystified as to why I have never heard of it before. It stars Gary Oldman, who is always good, and James Marsden - nice to see him playing more comedy and not being grumpy old Scott Summers from the X-Men. There are cameos from Christopher Lloyd, Ann-Margret, Kurt Russell and Michael J. Fox.

I have Definitely, Maybe to watch this weekend. I admit I got it purely to see Ryan Reynolds in it and am now feeling really doubtful as it says it's by the people who made Love Actually and Bridget Jones' Diary, as I normally hate that Kind of film :(. Ah well, we'll see...
